The 2012 NCAC Championships will be held at Kenyon this weekend (Apr. 27-29). The women’s tournament will run from Friday through Saturday afternoon, while the men’s tournament will begin Saturday afternoon and conclude on Sunday. The complete tournament bracket will be released tomorrow evening.

ALLEGHENY ended its regular season on a two match skid. The Gators came close to beating Kenyon for the first time since 1985 by sweeping the doubles matches, but dropped five of six in singles play as they prepare for the conference tournament next weekend ... 

DENISON dropped a 6-3 decision to No. 12 DePauw in its only action of the week. Senior Sarah Short (Cheswick, PA/Fox Chapel) paced the Big Red with victories at both first singles and doubles flights. The senior won a three-set decision over Kelly Gebert (6-3, 2-6, 11-9) in singles play. Short and partner Alex Marcell (Chicago, IL/Loyola Academy) also extended their current winning streak to 12 after doubling up Gebert and Maggie MacPhail, 8-4, at No. 1 doubles ...

DEPAUW is 14-6 overall and finished NCAC regular season play at 3-0. During the week, the No. 12 ranked Tigers won at No. 11 Washington-St. Louis by a 5-4 score and topped No. 26 Denison, 6-3 ...

KENYON finished off its NCAC slate with three matches last week. The Ladies defeated Wooster, 9-0, and Allegheny, 5-4, but in between those matches, fell to Oberlin, 8-1 ...

OBERLIN extended its winning streak to 12 straight matches, taking down both Kenyon and Allegheny by 8-1 scores. Prior to the match with Kenyon, Oberlin honored its five senior members. The victory over the Ladies, coupled with last week’s win over Denison, marks the first time Oberlin has defeated both Kenyon and Denison in the same season ...

OHIO WESLEYAN was idle last week ...

WITTENBERG's women went 2-for-3 on the week, starting with a 6-3 win at Division II Cedarville and a Senior Day sweep of Wooster, ending with an 8-1 loss vs. Case at Kenyon. Senior Kacia Nolan (Indianapolis, IN/Speedway) was one of five seniors honored on Saturday, and went 2-1 at No. 6 singles last week, including a close loss at Cedarville that required a tiebreaker to decide a 6-1, 6-3 win versus Wooster and an 8-6 win versus Case ...

WOOSTER fell twice to Kenyon and Wittenberg by identical 9-0 scores.
