All 10 NCAC Institutions Represented in Latest Div. III Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings

The North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) has placed all 10 member institutions on the updated 2011-12 Division III Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings which includes the results from 2011-12 NCAA winter postseason championships. The Directors' Cup Standings measure each institution's overall achievement in postseason play by awarding points based on each team's finish in NCAA postseason competition.

NCAC Weekly Release (3-2-12) Women's Tennis

The 2012 North Coast women's tennis season continued last week with five teams in action. The week was highlighted by Ohio Wesleyan blanking non-conference foe Capital, 9-0. This week will feature Allegheny at the Oberlin Shootout and Denison at the Midwest Invitational.

Three NCAC Tennis Squads Ranked In ITA National Poll

Three North Coast Athletic Conference tennis squads are listed among the nations' top teams on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Top 30, released on March 29th. The Kenyon tops that list as the No. 4 squad on the men's Top 30, while DePauw is 10th and Denison is 17th on the women's poll.

The 2012 North Coast women's tennis season continued last week with all eight teams in action. The week was highlighted by Wittenberg after the Tigers went 2-0 on Sunday while not allowing a point in either match.

OHIO WESLEYAN blanked Edgewood, 9-0, in its opening match of its spring break trip in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Sophomore Jordan Leslie (Bristol, WI/Westosha Central), senior Emily Kiourtsis (Pickerington, OH/North), senior Becky Simon (Hilliard, OH/Darby) and freshman Alex Webb (Tipp City, OH/Tippecanoe) were double winners for the Battling Bishops.

The DePauw University women's tennis team highlighted action across the North Coast last week with a third-place finish at the ITA National Indoor Championships in Greencastle. The Tigers defeated No. 4 Chicago, 5-4, and No. 14 Washington (MO), 7-2, and lost to eventual champion and seventh-ranked Washington & Lee, 7-2, in the semifinals.

The Denison women and Kenyon men tennis squads were tabbed as the favorites in the 2012 North Coast Athletic Conference preseason coaches' polls.
