NCAC Places 10 On Women's Lacrosse All-West Region Squad

2012 IWLCA All-Region Teams

The North Coast Athletic Conference was well represented on the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Region selections, released on May 18th. A total of 10 NCAC student-athletes were named to one of the two All-West Region Teams.

First-team selections included Wooster senior attack Madison Carey (Northfield, MN/Shattuck-St. Mary's), Wittenberg sophomore midfielder Alie Marousek (Pittsburgh, PA/Portsmouth (NH)), Denison senior attack Alex Thurner (Cincinnati, OH/Summit Country Day), Denison senior defender Carly Tschantz (Omaha, NE/New Trier (IL)) and Allegheny senior midfielder Kiah Voyer-Colbath (York, ME/York).

The five NCAC student-athletes named to the second team were Wittenberg sophomore midfielder Francine Murzynski (Mentor, OH/Lake Catholic), Wooster junior midfielder Clare Nelson-Johnson (Wilmette, IL/Loyola Academy), Wooster freshman defender Molly Sennett (Rochester, NY/Brighton), Denison senior midfielder Olivia Shiland (South Hamilton, MA/Hamilton-Wenham) and Ohio Wesleyan junior attach Annie Swanson (McLean, VA/Langley).

The IWLCA has honored 224 student-athletes in Division III with a selection on one of the All-Regional teams for 2012. These athletes are now eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA All-American teams, which will be announced on May 24. The IWLCA will honor the National All-Americans at the IWLCA All-American banquet on June 16, 2012 at the Radisson Hotel Valley Forge in King of Prussia, Pa.
