The fall portion of the North Coast women’s golf season is drawing to a close. Wittenberg hosted its annual Pat Clouse Invitational this past weekend, while Allegheny completes its fall schedule this week in Destin, Florida, at the NCAA Division III National Preview.

WITTENBERG hosted DENISON, DEPAUW and a grouping of non-conference squads last weekend at Springfield Country Club for the annual Pat Clouse Invitational. The DPU Tigers held a five-stroke advantage in the team standings after round one with 311 strokes, but Wittenberg was able to better manage poor weather conditions on the final day to capture the team championship with a 36-hole total of 636 (316-320). DePauw was second in the team standings with a 649 (311-338) and Denison was 10th with a 690 (341-349). Individually, Wittenberg sophomore Rachel Steiner (Hamilton, OH/Lakota West) was the championship medalist award winner after carding a 155 (77-78) on the Par-72, 5,800 yard course. DPU was led by junior Kelsey Smith (Indianapolis, IN/Hamilton Southeastern) who finished in a tie for third with 158 strokes (73-85), while Denison freshman Brynn FitzGerald (Pepper Pike, OH/Orange) finished in a tie for 17th with a 165 (79-86).

ALLEGHENY is currently competing in Destin, Florida, at the NCAA Div. III National Preview at Baytowne Golf Club. After Sunday’s opening round, Allegheny was seventh out of 14 teams with 332 strokes, led by junior Miranda Santucci (Carnegie, PA/Winchester-Thurston School) who was tied for 13th overall with an 80.
