2012 All-NCAC Women's Golf Team The 2012 NCAC Golf Championship Series concluded on Sunday April 29, 2012, at the Oberlin Golf Club in Ohio. The DePauw women captured their first-ever NCAC women's golf title after posting a 72-hole score of 1,282 strokes. In the final women's standings, Allegheny was second with 1,293 strokes, followed by Wittenberg (1,354), Denison (1,463), Ohio Wesleyan (1,481) and Wooster (1,548). DePauw sophomore Kelsey Smith (Indianapolis, IN/Hamilton Southeastern) won the 2012 NCAC Women’s Golf Championship Medalist Award after posting a 72-hole total of 319, while Hiram senior Kritsinee Khowcharoen (Muang, Phitsanulok, Thailand/Fryeburg Academy, ME) was selected as the Women’s Golf Player of the Year by vote of he conference coaches. In addition, DePauw head coach Vince Lazar was selected the NCAC Women’s Golf Coach of the Year by vote of the conference coaches. Joining Smith on the All-NCAC First Team were teammates Paige Gooch (Fort Mitchell, KY/Beechwood) with 321 strokes, Kelly Gaughan (Cincinnati, OH/McAuley) with 324 strokes, Abby Dickey (Elk Grove Village, IL/St. Viator) with 326 strokes and Taylor Beaty (Decatur, IN/DeKalb) with 326 strokes, while Allegheny senior Lauren Hammell (McMurray, PA/Peters Township) and sophomore Miranda Santucci (Carnegie, PA/Winchester-Thurston) also earned All-NCAC first team accolades with 72-hole totals of 323 and 322, respectively. |
