2012 ALL-NCAC BASKETBALL SQUAD ANNOUNCED
ALDRICH NAMED PLAYER OF THE YEAR

2012 All-NCAC Women's Basketball Teams

DePauw senior Katie Aldrich (Lexington, KY/Lafayette) has been named Player of the Year to highlight the 2012 All-North Coast Athletic Conference women's basketball squad, announced today after voting by the conference's head coaches.

Aldrich {left}, who helped the Tigers earn the NCAC's regular season and tournament championships in their inaugural season in the league, leads DPU in scoring (11.6 ppg) and is second on the squad in rebounding (6.3 rpg). Aldrich and the Tigers will enter the 2012 NCAA Division III Tournament with an overall record 26-1 and will host Westminster (MO) (22-4) in a first round matchup on March 2nd.

A trio of juniors landed on the first team for the second consecutive season, including Kenyon's Kayla Ernst (Batavia, OH/Batavia), Allegheny's Heidi Goeller (Pittsburgh, PA/Fox Chapel) and Denison's Serafina Nuzzo (Western Springs, IL/Fenwick).

Allegheny sophomore Erica Restich (Pittsburgh, PA/Chartiers Valley), who was named the Newcomer of the Year in 2011, elevated to the first team after earning second-team laurels a year ago, while Kenyon sophomore Maureen Hirt (Bloomington, IN/North) made the leap to the top squad after earning an honorable mention nod in 2011. In addition, DePauw sophomore Ali Ross (Lexington, KY/Lafayette) makes her first appearance on an all-NCAC squad as a first-team selection.

Oberlin freshman Christina Marquette (Huntington Beach, CA/Edison) {right} was named the Newcomer of the Year after averaging 12.8 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in her rookie campaign.

DePauw head coach Kris Huffman {left} was voted NCAC Coach of the Year for the first time in her career after she guided the Tigers to a perfect 16-0 record in conference games this season. Huffman will take a 431-101 overall record into the 2012 NCAA Div. III Tournament.
