Denison University posted top-five finishes in 19 of 23 sports to earn the North Coast Athletic Conference All-Sports Championship for the 12th time in school history. The Big Red opened the year with top-five finishes in five of the seven fall sports, and kept the momentum rolling into the winter season with five more top-five finishes, including league titles in men's swimming & diving and women's swimming & diving. DU capped off the year with a strong showing in the spring season, finishing in the top-five in nine of the 10 sports, including the outright NCAC title in men's lacrosse. The Big Red secured the 2013 All-Sports title by compiling 165.0 total points, edging out 2012 All-Sports champion DePauw (159.5) by five-and-a-half points.
Three NCAC fall sports student-athletes have been awarded one of the prestigious NCAA postgraduate scholarships for the 2012-13 academic year, including Wooster senior volleyball player Kelley Johnson (Orrville, OH/Orrville). Wabash senior football player Weston Kitley (Indianapolis, IN/Roncalli) and Ohio Wesleyan senior football player Tyler Sheetz (Eighty Four, PA/Peters Twp.).
DePauw University won one outright league championship to go along with two third-place finishes and two fourth-place finishes to maintain its lead in the race for the 2012-13 North Coast Athletic Conference All-Sports Championship.
Currently in 30th place, DePauw University leads seven NCAC institutions ranked in the prestigious 2012-2013 Division III Learfield Sports Directors' Cup fall standings.
Wooster senior Kelley Johnson (Orrville, OH/Orrville), a communication studies major with a 3.95 grade point average, was a first-team selection on the 2012 Capital One Academic All-America Division III Volleyball Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Wittenberg University placed three volleyball standouts on the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America honor roll, with Kara Seidenstricker (London, OH/Jonathan Alder) {left} breaking new ground as the first freshman in Wittenberg volleyball history to earn first-team All-America and National Freshman of the Year honors. Senior libero Christina Gilene (Milford, Ohio/McNicholas) also earned All-America honors, making the second team, up from the third team in 2011. In addition, junior middle hitter Andrea Behling (Columbus, Ind./North) capped her breakout 2012 season with placement on the honorable mention.
North Coast Athletic Conference regular season and tournament champion Wittenberg (27-5) was knocked out of the 2012 NCAA Tournament by Calvin, for the third time in the last four seasons. The Tigers fell in five-sets, 3-2 (23-25, 25-18, 23-25, 26-24, 15-12), in the regional finals on Saturday evening in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
For the third straight season, Wittenberg and Calvin met in an NCAA Division III Tournament regional championship match. After the two teams split the last two meetings en route to national titles for Calvin in 2010 and Wittenberg in 2011, the rubber match in 2012 went to Calvin in dramatic fashion 3-2.
