The 2012 NCAC Tennis Championships concluded on Sunday evening at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. The Kenyon men captured their sixth-straight NCAC championship after defeating Denison, 6-1, in Sunday night’s championship match, while the DePauw women captured their first-ever NCAC women’s tennis title after defeating Oberlin, 5-1, in Saturday afternoon’s championship match.

The Lords (4-0, 20-4) cruised past Ohio Wesleyan (1-3, 8-14), 5-0, in the quarterfinals on Saturday, and advanced to the championship match with a 5-1 triumph over Wittenberg (1-2, 17-8) in the semifinals on Sunday. Denison (2-1, 15-5) paved its path to the men’s championship match with a 5-1 victory over Allegheny (3-1, 9-9) in the quarterfinals and a narrow 5-4 triumph over DePauw (3-0, 16-8) in the semifinals.

Sunday’s men’s action also included DePauw taking down Wittenberg, 5-0, in the third-place match, Wabash (0-3, 17-10) defeating Allegheny, 5-3, in the fifth-place match and Oberlin (2-2, 11-13) edging Ohio Wesleyan, 5-4, in the seventh-place match.

The DePauw women (3-0, 16-8) opened play in their first-ever NCAC Tennis Championships with a 5-0 victory over Wooster (0-3, 3-20) in the quarterfinals and secured their spot in the championship match with 7-0 triumph over Kenyon (2-1, 10-14) in the semifinals. Oberlin (3-0, 19-6) mapped its route to the championship match with a 5-0 victory over Ohio Wesleyan (0-3, 10-9) in the quarterfinals and a 5-2 victory over Denison (2-1, 9-12) in the semifinals.

The remaining spots in the final NCAC women’s tennis standings were also decided on Saturday as Denison defeated Kenyon, 5-1, in the third-place match, Allegheny (1-2, 10-10) took down Wittenberg (1-2, 12-12), 5-3, in the fifth-place match and Ohio Wesleyan swept Wooster, 5-0, in the seventh-place match.
