Ohio Wesleyan set to host NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships
Ohio Wesleyan hosts the 2011 NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships from Thursday through Saturday at Selby Field and George Gauthier Track. Events begin at noon each day.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens for a one-day wristband, and $20 for adults and $12 for students and senior citizens for a three-day wristband. Children under three are admitted free.
The North Coast Athletic Conference will be represented at the national meet by 16 individual qualifiers as well as one relay team. The individuals from the conference competing at the national meet are:
Lauren Butler (New Kensington, PA/Kiski Area) – women’s javelin
Tony Dipre (Twinsburg, OH/Walsh Jesuit) – men’s 1500 meters
Chris Marker (Arlington, VA/Yorkstown) – men’s 5,000 meters
Dee Salukombo (Lakewood, OH/Lakewood) – men’s 5,000 meters
Joanna Johnson (Chico, CA/Chico) – women’s 5K & 10K
Stephen Williams (Cordova, TN/St. George’s Independent) – men’s 3K steeplechase
Emily Amburgey (Germantown, OH/Preble Shawnee) - women’s high jump
Sarah Bechtel (Bellefontaine, OH/Bellefontaine) - women’s pole vault
Cara DeAngelis (Norton, OH/Ellet) - women’s 1500
Kat Zimmerly (Edinboro, PA/General McLane) - women’s 5,000 meters.
Ethan Freet (London, OH/London) – men’s 400-meter hurdles
Wes Chamblee (South Bend, IN/St. Joseph’s) – men’s 400-meter hurdles
Seth Einterz (Zionsville, IN/Zionsville) – men’s 5,000 meters
Kevin McCarthy (Zionsville, IN/Zionsville) – men’s 3K steeplechase
Jake Waterman (Noblesville, IN/Noblesville) – men’s 800 meters
