Tennis squads in the North Coast Athletic Conference opened up the spring portion of their schedule last week. Action continues across the conference in the coming week as their is a full slate of matches on the schedule.

Allegheny's Luteran Named USTA Allegheny Mountain District Coach of the Year

Allegheny men's and women's tennis Head Coach Jared Luteran was named the 2011 USTA Allegheny Mountain District Collegiate Coach of the Year earlier this month. The USTA Allegheny Mountain District Collegiate Coach of the Year honor is given to one college coach in the Pittsburgh, Western Pennsylvania, and Wheeling, West Virginia area who exemplifies the spirit of tennis both on and off the court.

Ohio Wesleyan Takes Early Lead In 2011-12 NCAC All-Sports Race

The Kenyon men's tennis team has advanced to the quarterfinal round of the 2011 NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament for the third time in the last four years, while the Denison women's squad has advanced to the quarterfinal round for the seventh time in the last eight years. The quarterfinals will be contested on Tuesday, with the semifinals on Wednesday and the championship match set for Thursday in Claremont, California.

NCAA Announces Individual Field For 2011 NCAA Men's & Women's Tennis Championships

The NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Tennis Committees have selected the individuals who will compete in the singles and doubles competition of the 2011 NCAA Division III Championships. The NCAC is represented by individual competitors from Denison, Kenyon and Oberlin.

Kenyon senior Jeremy Polster (Shaker Hts., OH/Shaker Hts.) has been named Player of the Year and Allegheny freshman Patrick Cole (Livonia, MI/Detroit Jesuit) has been selected as Newcomer of the Year to highlight the 2011 All-North Coast Athletic Conference men's tennis selections.

NCAC Weekly Release (5-9-11) - 2011 NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament Selection

For the 10th straight season and 15th time overall, the Kenyon College men’s tennis team will compete in the 2011 NCAA Men’s Tennis Tournament. The Lords (17-3) will host first, second and third round matches in Gambier, Ohio, this weekend (May 13-15).
