NCAC Well Represented On 2013 ITA Tennis All-Region Awards List

The North Coast Athletic Conference was well represented on the 2013 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Region Awards list. Allegheny, Kenyon and Oberlin each had representation on the awards list.

Denison Wins 13th NCAC All-Sports Title; Big Red Claimed 19 Top-Five Finishes in 2012-13

Denison University posted top-five finishes in 19 of 23 sports to earn the North Coast Athletic Conference All-Sports Championship for the 12th time in school history. The Big Red opened the year with top-five finishes in five of the seven fall sports, and kept the momentum rolling into the winter season with five more top-five finishes, including league titles in men's swimming & diving and women's swimming & diving. DU capped off the year with a strong showing in the spring season, finishing in the top-five in nine of the 10 sports, including the outright NCAC title in men's lacrosse. The Big Red secured the 2013 All-Sports title by compiling 165.0 total points, edging out 2012 All-Sports champion DePauw (159.5) by five-and-a-half points.

NCAC Weekly Release (5-13-13) - NCAA Tennis Tournaments

For the fifth time in the last six seasons, Kenyon (25-3) has advanced to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Tournament. The Lords, who were the national runners-up a year ago, will square off against Washington (MO) (19-5) in a quarterfinal match next Monday, May 20, at Stowe Stadium on the campus of Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo Michigan. In addition, the DePauw University women’s tennis team was eliminated from the 2013 NCAA Division III Tennis Women’s Tennis Tournament in the third round after dropping a narrow 5-4 decision against Washington (MO).

Kenyon Men's Tennis Serves Up 5-0 Win Over Franciscan In Second Round Of NCAA Tournament

The Kenyon men's tennis team blitzed the Franciscan University Barons, 5-0, in Saturday's second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Lords, ranked No. 2 in the nation with a 24-3 record, will now host the Case Western Reserve University Spartans, who are ranked No. 14 nationally and own a 22-6 record. Case defeated Wilkes University, 5-0, Saturday morning to advance. Kenyon and Case will square off Sunday at noon with a national quarterfinal spot on the line. NCAA Announces Individual Field For 2013 NCAA Tennis Championships

The NCAA Division III tennis committees have selected individuals who will compete in the singles and doubles competition of the 2013 NCAA Div. III Tennis Championships which will be held at at Stowe Stadium in Kalamazoo, Michigan, May 20-25.

Kenyon Earns First-Round Bye In 2013 NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament

Kenyon College, the 2013 NCAC men's tennis champions, will represent the league in the 2013 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Tournament. Kenyon earned the league's automatic bid to the NCAA championship field via the program's 16th NCAC title. The conference championship was also the Lords’ seventh-straight NCAC crown.

Kenyon senior Paul Burgin (Baltimore, MD/Pikesville) {left} has been named Player of the Year and Oberlin freshman Callan Louis (Cambridge, MA/The Rivers School) {right} has been selected as Newcomer of the Year to highlight the 2012 All-North Coast Athletic Conference men's tennis selections.

NCAC Weekly Release (4-29-13) - 2013 NCAC Tennis Championships

The 2013 NCAC Tennis Championships concluded on Sunday evening at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio. The Kenyon men captured their seventh-straight NCAC championship after defeating DePauw, 5-1, in Sunday night’s championship match, while the DePauw women captured their second-consecutive NCAC women’s tennis title after defeating Denison, 5-4, in Sunday afternoon’s women’s championship match.

Kenyon Earns 2013 NCAC Men's Tennis Championship

The Kenyon men's tennis team captured their sixth-straight and 16th all-time NCAC men's tennis championship on Sunday evening with a 5-1 decision over DePauw. As conference champions, the Lords (23-3) have earned the league's automatic bid into the 2013 NCAA Div. III Men's Tennis Tournament.
