Denison senior attack Cory Couture (Coronado, CA/Coronado) has been named Player of the Year to highlight the 2012 All-North Coast Athletic Conference men's lacrosse selections.
Couture leads the conference in points-per-game (4.29) after netting 29 goals and dishing out 31 assists in 14 regular season games. He helped lead Denison to its second consecutive North Coast title and eighth-straight bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament. Couture is a three-time All-NCAC selection, earning honorable mention accolades in 2011 and second-team laurels in 2010.
Ohio Wesleyan junior attack Colin Short (Jamesville, NY/Jamesville-DeWitt) and Denison senior defender Nick Farrell (New York, NY/Millbrook School) are the only returning first-team selections from 2011. Farrell also earned second-team laurels in 2010.
Ohio Wesleyan freshman goalie Ryan McMahon (Springfield, VA/The Bullis School) was named the North Coast's Newcomer of the Year by vote of the league coaches. McMahon, who also garnered second-team All-NCAC honors, recorded 154 saves and allowed 90 goals for a .631 save percentage.
In addition, Denison senior David Lukens (Marietta, GA/Holy Innocent's Episcopal) was presented the 2012 NCAC Men's Lacrosse Sportsmanship Award.
Kenyon's Doug Misarti earned Coach of the Year honors by vote of the league coaches after guiding the Lords to a 10-4 record and the program's fourth overall appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament in his fifth season at the helm.
