Hiram College

Founded in 1850, Hiram College continues today as one of the nation’s most well respected liberal arts institutions. Located in Northeast Ohio’s Western Reserve Area, Hiram attracts students from throughout the United States and 24 countries. Hiram’s academic calendar, known as the Hiram Plan, is unique to the nation.

The College offers students one of the country’s oldest and most respected study abroad program. More than 50% of Hiram students study abroad during their four years on campus. Recognized as a Baccalaureate-I institution by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, Hiram is one of only 13% of colleges and universities to be awarded a chapter of the prestigious honor society Phi Beta Kappa. Hiram enrolls 1,240 students in its traditional program and more than 300 adult learners in the Weekend College, the first program of its kind in Ohio.

North Coast Athletic Conference regular season and tournament champion DePauw (28-0) earned its tenth straight bid to the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Tournament. The Tigers will host La Roche of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (22-4) in a first-round matchup on Friday night.

The North Coast Athletic Conference will be sending multiple teams to the 2013 NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Tournament for the third year in a row. Tournament champion Ohio Wesleyan (22-5) earned the league’s automatic bid into the field of 62, while Wooster (23-5) received one of the 20 available at-large invitations. The Battling Bishops are making their second consecutive appearance in the national tournament and fourth all-time, while the Fighting Scots appear on the national bracket for the 11th year in a row and the 18th time in the last 19 seasons.

Kenyon senior Kayla Ernst (Batavia, OH/Batavia) was the North Coast Athletic Conference's lone selection on the 2012-13 Capital One Academic All-America Team, it was announced on Tuesday, February 19, by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

NCAC Basketball Tournament Central

The 2013 NCAC Men's & Women's Basketball Tournament's concluded on Saturday evening with top seed DePauw (28-0) earning the women's title with a 63-49 triumph over second-seeded Kenyon (20-8), while second seed Ohio Wesleyan (22-5) hoisted the trophy on the men's side with a 76-66 victory over top-seeded Wooster (23-5). As tournament champions, the Tigers and Battling Bishops have earned the league's automatic bid into their respective NCAA Division III Basketball Tournaments.

NCAC Weekly Release (2-18-13) - Men's Lacrosse

The 2013 North Coast men’s lacrosse season kicked off last weekend with Denison and Ohio Wesleyan earning victories. The Big Red knocked off Mt. St. Joseph, 19-2, in Cincinnati, Ohio, while the Battling Bishops knocked off Aurora, 11-9, at home.

2013 All-NCAC Swimmers & Divers Announced

The Denison University men and women won their fifth consecutive North Coast Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championships at the 29th annual event, hosted by Kenyon College at the C.T. Branin Natatorium, February 13-16.
