Hiram College

Founded in 1850, Hiram College continues today as one of the nation’s most well respected liberal arts institutions. Located in Northeast Ohio’s Western Reserve Area, Hiram attracts students from throughout the United States and 24 countries. Hiram’s academic calendar, known as the Hiram Plan, is unique to the nation.

The College offers students one of the country’s oldest and most respected study abroad program. More than 50% of Hiram students study abroad during their four years on campus. Recognized as a Baccalaureate-I institution by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, Hiram is one of only 13% of colleges and universities to be awarded a chapter of the prestigious honor society Phi Beta Kappa. Hiram enrolls 1,240 students in its traditional program and more than 300 adult learners in the Weekend College, the first program of its kind in Ohio.

NCAC Weekly Release (3-4-13) - Men's Lacrosse

The North Coast men’s lacrosse season continued last week with six teams in action. The week was highlighted by Wooster senior Matt Ranck (Union Lake, MI/Walled Lake) who led the Fighting Scots to a perfect 2-0 start in 2013 posting a combined nine goals. Men’s lacrosse action continues this week with one game on Tuesday, five games on Wednesday, four on Saturday and one more to close out the week on Sunday.

NCAC Weekly Release (3-4-13) - Baseball & Softball

North Coast baseball and softball squads kicked off their 2013 campaigns last week, highlighted by the Allegheny softball squad posting a 3-1 record at the Beach Blast in Virginia Beach Virginia. The Gators knocked off a pair of nationally-ranked squads on Friday, including No. 16 Rowam 4-2, and No. 6 Christopher Newport, 3-0.

North Coast Athletic Conference softball coaches have selected Denison as the preseason favorite based on balloting in the annual preseason coaches’ poll.

Kenyon senior Kayla Ernst (Batavia, OH/Batavia) has been named Player of the Year to highlight the 2013 All-North Coast Athletic Conference women's basketball squad, announced today after voting by the conference's head coaches.

North Coast women’s lacrosse squads kicked off the 2013 season last week with a 3-1 record against non-conference opponents. Non-conference action continues in the coming week with two games on Wednesday, five on Saturday and one on Sunday.

NCAC Weekly Release (2-25-13) - Track & Field

The 2013 NCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships are set for this weekend (March 1-2) at Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. Friday’s action will begin with field events at 1:30 p.m., while Saturday’s action also opens with field events at 10:30 a.m. Wabash is the defending NCAC men’s indoor champions after capturing its second straight indoor title at last year’s meet with 238 points, while Ohio Wesleyan grabbed its third straight and 11th overall NCAC women's crown last season with 192 points. North Coast men’s lacrosse squads continued competition last week, highlighted by Ohio Wesleyan defeating Concordia (WI), 13-6, and Oberlin cruising to a 22-11 victory over Olivet on Saturday. In addition, DePauw played its inaugural varsity contest on Saturday with an 8-6 setback against Wilmington in Ohio. Men’s lacrosse action continues this week with two games each on Tuesday and Wednesday, one game on Friday and six more on Saturday.

NCAC Weekly Release (2-25-13) - Women's Basketball

North Coast Athletic Conference regular season and tournament champion DePauw (28-0) earned its tenth straight bid to the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Tournament. The Tigers will host La Roche of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (22-4) in a first-round matchup on Friday night.

Several North Coast swimming & diving squads wrapped up the 2012-13 regular season on Saturday at the Kenyon Invitational in Gambier, Ohio.
