Hiram College

Founded in 1850, Hiram College continues today as one of the nation’s most well respected liberal arts institutions. Located in Northeast Ohio’s Western Reserve Area, Hiram attracts students from throughout the United States and 24 countries. Hiram’s academic calendar, known as the Hiram Plan, is unique to the nation.

The College offers students one of the country’s oldest and most respected study abroad program. More than 50% of Hiram students study abroad during their four years on campus. Recognized as a Baccalaureate-I institution by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, Hiram is one of only 13% of colleges and universities to be awarded a chapter of the prestigious honor society Phi Beta Kappa. Hiram enrolls 1,240 students in its traditional program and more than 300 adult learners in the Weekend College, the first program of its kind in Ohio.

NCAC Weekly Release (4-8-13) - Softball

DePauw (6-0, 10-12) opened up the North Coast portion of its schedule last week with sweeps over Ohio Wesleyan (3-3, 10-10), Oberlin (0-6, 3-15) and Hiram (1-3, 7-15). The Tigers are the lone undefeated team left in conference play. Conference action continues this week with doubleheaders scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.

NCAC Weekly Release (4-8-13) - Men's Lacrosse

Denison (2-0, 7-1) and Ohio Wesleyan (2-0, 7-4) remained perfect in NCAC play last week with wins over Oberlin (0-3, 4-8) and Kenyon (2-1, 6-5), respectively. North Coast action continues this week with one game scheduled Tuesday, three on Wednesday and four on Saturday.

NCAC Weekly Release (4-8-13) - Women's Lacrosse

Wittenberg (3-0, 6-3), Denison (2-0, 8-0) and Wooster (2-0, 9-1) each remained perfect in conference play last week and sit atop the conference standings. NCAC action continues this week, with match-ups scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, highlighted but Wooster and Wittenberg scheduled to play in Springfield on Wednesday.

NCAC Weekly Release (4-8-13) - Golf

North Coast golf action continued last week with a pair of league squads capturing event titles. The Allegheny women took home the team title at Capital’s Purple & White Invitational with a score of 650 (327-323), while the Denison men captured the team championship at the Muskingum Invitational after carding a 596 (295-301).

NCAC Weekly Release (4-8-13) - Baseball

The North Coast baseball schedule continued last week with Allegheny (4-0, 13-5) sweeping Hiram (0-6, 9-12) to sit in first place in the East, while Denison (6-2, 12-8) swept Wittenberg (3-5, 12-7) and now sits alone at the top of the West division standings. Divisional play continues this weekend with four series on the slate.

NCAC Weekly Release (4-1-13) - Men's Lacrosse

Denison (2-0, 7-1), Ohio Wesleyan (2-0, 7-4) and Kenyon (2-0, 6-4) all remained perfect in NCAC play last weekend with wins over DePauw (0-2, 0-8), Hiram (0-2, 1-5) and Oberlin (0-2, 4-3), respectively. North Coast action continues this week with four conference tilts scheduled, highlighted by Ohio Wesleyan hosting Kenyon on Friday.

NCAC Weekly Release (4-1-13) - Women's Lacrosse

Denison (1-0, 6-0), DePauw (1-0, 4-0) and Wittenberg (1-0, 4-2) each earned their first NCAC win last week to sit tied atop the standings with Kenyon (1-0, 4-1) after wins over Allegheny (0-1, 6-2), Hiram (0-1, 3-5) and Ohio Wesleyan (0-1, 1-7), respectively. Lacrosse action continues this week as Wooster (0-0, 6-1) is scheduled to open up NCAC play on the road versus Allegheny on Tuesday.

NCAC Weekly Release (4-1-13) - Softball

North Coast softball squads opened up the conference portion of the schedule last week as Kenyon (2-0, 14-5) and Ohio Wesleyan (2-0, 9-5) earned sweeps over Oberlin (0-2, 2-10) and Wittenberg (0-2, 9-4) respectively. Conference play continues this week as Wooster (0-0, 9-7) and Hiram (0-0, 4-12) are scheduled to square off Saturday marking the first NCAC action for each squad.
