Hiram College

Founded in 1850, Hiram College continues today as one of the nation’s most well respected liberal arts institutions. Located in Northeast Ohio’s Western Reserve Area, Hiram attracts students from throughout the United States and 24 countries. Hiram’s academic calendar, known as the Hiram Plan, is unique to the nation.

The College offers students one of the country’s oldest and most respected study abroad program. More than 50% of Hiram students study abroad during their four years on campus. Recognized as a Baccalaureate-I institution by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, Hiram is one of only 13% of colleges and universities to be awarded a chapter of the prestigious honor society Phi Beta Kappa. Hiram enrolls 1,240 students in its traditional program and more than 300 adult learners in the Weekend College, the first program of its kind in Ohio.

DePauw Women & Wittenberg Men Favored For 2013 NCAC Golf Championship Series

The Wittenberg men and DePauw women emerged as favorites in the 2013 North Coast Athletic Conference men's and women's pre-championship golf polls, respectively, based on balloting from league coaches. Denison will host the first of two NCAC Golf Championship Series events this weekend (Apr. 27-28) at Granville Golf Club. Event two is scheduled for May 4-5 at Oakhaven Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio. For both events, the men and women will play 36 holes over two days, with 18 holes being played on both Saturday and Sunday. The top team finisher after all rounds are completed will be crowned the conference champion, while the individual medalist honors will go to the top man and woman after the completion of both championship events. Both the men's and women's team champion will receive the league's automatic bid into their respective NCAA Division III National Championship.

NCAC Weekly Release (4-22-13) - Men's Lacrosse

Denison (7-0, 12-2) earned its second-straight North Coast championship with a pair of wins last week. The Big Red defeated Ohio Wesleyan, 11-8, and Hiram, 27-0, to collect their 14th conference title. Ohio Wesleyan has won the most conference crowns with 18, Wittenberg has two, while Wooster and Kenyon each boast one championship.

NCAC Weekly Release (4-22-13) - Women's Lacrosse

Wittenberg (6-0, 10-3) knocked off Denison (5-1, 12-1), 12-7, on Saturday in a key NCAC contest to remain atop the league standings heading into the final full week of regular season action. The win for the Tigers guarantees them a spot in the NCAC Tournament set for the first weekend of May. Women’s lacrosse action returns this week with four games scheduled Wednesday and four more on Saturday.

NCAC Weekly Release (4-22-13) - Softball

DePauw (12-2, 18-14) clinched a share of its first NCAC softball title this past weekend after sweeping Allegheny (7-5, 15-16) in a pair of tightly contested one-run games. As the NCAC Softball Tournament draws near, just two games separates second-place through sixth place in the loss column. Softball action returns Monday as Wooster (2-8, 14-16) visits Denison (6-4, 18-12) for a double-header then four conference double-headers are scheduled for both Wednesday and Saturday.

NCAC Weekly Release (4-22-13) - Baseball

North Coast divisional play in baseball will conclude this weekend with Wooster (10-2, 22-8) currently sitting atop the West Division standings and Denison (10-6, 19-12) owning the top spot in the East standings. Following this weekend’s divisional series, matchups will be released next Monday for the following weekend’s cross-divisional series, which will determine the four teams that will compete in the 2013 NCAC Baseball Tournament.

NCAC Weekly Release (4-22-13) - Golf

The first event of the 2013 NCAC Golf Championship Series will be contested this weekend (Apr. 27-28) at Granville Golf Club with Denison serving as the host institution. The second event of the championship series will take place the following weekend (May 4-5) at Oakhaven Golf Club with Ohio Wesleyan serving as the host institution.

NCAC Weekly Release (4-15-13) - Men's Lacrosse

Denison (5-0, 10-2) and Ohio Wesleyan (5-0, 10-4) are set to break the tie atop the conference standings Wednesday as the Big Red travels to Delaware to square off with the Bishops. Each squad remained perfect in conference action after they both picked up a pair of NCAC victories last week. Denison defeated Kenyon (3-2, 7-6) and Wittenberg (2-3, 7-4), while Ohio Wesleyan knocked off DePauw (0-5, 0-11) and Wooster (3-2, 8-4).

NCAC Weekly Release (4-15-13) - Women's Lacrosse

North Coast women’s lacrosse action continued last weekend with a pair of squads remaining perfect in league play. Wittenberg (5-0, 9-3) defeated Hiram (0-3, 3-7) and Denison (4-0, 11-0) knocked off DePauw (1-4, 4-5) and Ohio Wesleyan (1-3, 2-9). Conference play continues this week, highlighted by Wittenberg traveling to Denison on Saturday.

NCAC Weekly Release (4-15-13) - Softball

The North Coast softball schedule continued last week with DePauw (10-0, 16-12) sweeping Denison (5-3, 15-11) and Wooster (2-6, 13-13) to sit in first place. Conference play continues this week with three double-headers scheduled Tuesday, one Wednesday and four more Saturday.
