DePauw University

Founded in 1837 by the Methodist church, DePauw University is a private, selective, coeducational, residential, undergraduate College of Liberal Arts and School of Music. The University or specific degree programs are accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, University Senate of the United Methodist Church, Committee on Professional Training of the American Chemical Society, National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, Indiana Professional Standards Board for the State of Indiana, Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, and the National Association of Schools of Music.

Forty-two majors are offered in the College of Liberal Arts, and three degree programs are offered in the School of Music. Courses and advising successfully prepare students for professional post-graduate programs in law, medicine, business, engineering, and ministry.

DePauw has 36 major buildings on 695 acres, including a 520-acre nature park featuring The Janet Prindle Institute for Ethics and the new Bartlett Reflection Center, located in Greencastle, Indiana, a 45-minute drive west of Indianapolis. Historic East College, built in 1877, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

NCAC Weekly Release (4-1-13) - Men's Tennis

There was minimal North Coast men’s tennis action last week; however, Ohio Wesleyan (1-1, 5-9) did capture a pair of victories, including a 5-4 triumph over NCAC East Division foe Wooster (0-1, 5-8) on Wednesday. NCAC Divisional matches will pick back up this week with Oberlin (1-0, 7-4) hosting Wooster on Tuesday, Wittenberg  (0-0, 9-2) traveling to Wabash (0-0, 11-6) on Saturday and Allegheny (0-0, 8-0) entertaining Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday.

NCAC Weekly Release (4-1-13) - Golf

Only three North Coast golf teams were in action last week as the Allegheny and Wittenberg men competed at The West Cup in Jurupa Valley, California, while the DePauw women’s squad wrapped up competition at the Low Country Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

NCAC Weekly Release (4-1-13) - Track & Field

Nearly every North Coast track & field squad was in action last week, highlighted by Wabash earning the team title at the Hanover Invitational. NCAC track & field continues in the week ahead, led by Denison, Kenyon, Ohio Wesleyan and Wittenberg all competing at the annual Marve Frye Invitational, held OWU’s George Gauthier Track.

NCAC Weekly Release (3-25-13) - Softball

North Coast softball squads wrapped up spring break trips last week, as eight teams open up the conference portion of their schedules this Saturday. Highlights include, Ohio Wesleyan (7-3) traveling to Wittenberg (9-2) and Denison (7-3) hosting Allegheny (7-11). Additionally, DePauw (4-6) and Kenyon (12-5) will hit the road to square off against Hiram (5-9) and Oberlin (1-5), respectively.

NCAC Weekly Release (3-25-13) - Women's Tennis

Denison (1-0, 9-2) knocked off Ohio Wesleyan (0-1, 2-8), 9-0, to open up conference play this past week. The Big Red is currently riding a nine match with streak after picking up a second victory last week against Walsh. Non-conference action continues this week, highlighted by DePauw (6-4) and Oberlin (7-4) both wrapping up spring break trips.

NCAC Weekly Release (3-25-13) - Women's Lacrosse

The North Coast women’s lacrosse season continued last week, as NCAC squads now hold a 28-16 non-conference record on the season. The week was highlighted by the opening of conference play, with Kenyon  (1-0, 3-1) knocking off Oberlin (0-1, 1-4) 13-11. Lacrosse action continues this week including three conference contests scheduled for Saturday.

North Coast men’s lacrosse squads opened up the conference portion of their schedules this past weekend, highlighted by Hiram (1-0, 1-4) picking up the programs first ever win with a 14-9 triumph over DePauw (0-1, 0-5). Lacrosse action continues this week with five NCAC games scheduled, including three on Saturday.

NCAC Weekly Release (3-25-13) - Men's Tennis

North Coast men’s tennis teams will continue divisional play this week with Ohio Wesleyan (0-1, 3-9) hosting Wooster (0-0, 5-7) on Wednesday and Denison (0-0, 6-4) traveling to Wittenberg (0-0, 9-2) on Thursday. In addition, DePauw will conclude its spring trip in California and Oberlin will finalize its annual spring trip in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

NCAC Weekly Release (3-25-13) - Baseball

Conference play is scheduled to begin in the North Coast this weekend with four divisional series’ on the slate: DePauw (0-0, 5-4) hosting Denison (0-0, 4-6), Oberlin (0-0, 6-2) traveling to Hiram (0-0, 9-6), Kenyon (0-0, 11-3) entertaining Wooster (0-0, 7-5) and Wittenberg (0-0, 8-1) visiting Wabash (0-0, 6-7). NCAC divisional series’ consist of four games over two days with one seven-inning game and one-nine inning game being played on both days. With the recent string of inclement weather throughout the region, be sure to check the NCAC website for scheduling updates throughout the week.

NCAC Weekly Release (3-25-13) - Men's & Women's Golf

North Coast men’s and women’s golf squads battled mother nature last weekend, but were still able to complete action across the state of Ohio and elsewhere. The Wittenberg women’s squad posted the best finish on the week as the Tigers won the Mt. Union Spring Invitational on Saturday with 326 strokes. Golf action continues this week with the Alleghey and Wittenberg men competing at The West Cup in LaVerne, California, March 25-26, and the DePauw women competing at the Low Country Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, South Carolina, March 24-25.
