DePauw University
Founded in 1837 by the Methodist church, DePauw University is a private, selective, coeducational, residential, undergraduate College of Liberal Arts and School of Music. The University or specific degree programs are accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, University Senate of the United Methodist Church, Committee on Professional Training of the American Chemical Society, National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, Indiana Professional Standards Board for the State of Indiana, Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, and the National Association of Schools of Music.
Forty-two majors are offered in the College of Liberal Arts, and three degree programs are offered in the School of Music. Courses and advising successfully prepare students for professional post-graduate programs in law, medicine, business, engineering, and ministry.
DePauw has 36 major buildings on 695 acres, including a 520-acre nature park featuring The Janet Prindle Institute for Ethics and the new Bartlett Reflection Center, located in Greencastle, Indiana, a 45-minute drive west of Indianapolis. Historic East College, built in 1877, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.






The North Coast women’s lacrosse season continued last week with six teams in action. The week was highlighted by Hiram’s win over Baldwin Wallace in the Terriers inaugural game at Charles A. Henry field. The NCAC has now opened the 2013 lacrosse season with a combined 9-2 record against non-conference opponents. Non-conference action continues in the coming week highlighted by two games on Wednesday and four on Saturday.
The Wabash College men's squad and the Ohio Wesleyan women's team captured the 2013 North Coast Athletic Conference team titles on Saturday evening at The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. Wabash, which won its third consecutive team title, accumulated 220.5 total points to edge out Ohio Wesleyan (168.5), while the Ohio Wesleyan women earned its seventh-straight women's title after earning 195 points to edge out Oberlin (168) for the team title.
The top-ranked DePauw University women's basketball team kept its unblemished record alive on Saturday evening in Greencastle, Indiana, with a 78-51 victory over Maryville (TN) in the second round of the 2013 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament. The Tigers will now take a perfect 30-0 record into next weekend's sectional round of the national tournament where they will take on Washington (MO). Sectional round host sites will be announced by the NCAA on Sunday.
The DePauw women and Kenyon men tennis squads were tabbed as the favorites in the 2013 North Coast Athletic Conference preseason coaches' polls.
