DePauw University

Founded in 1837 by the Methodist church, DePauw University is a private, selective, coeducational, residential, undergraduate College of Liberal Arts and School of Music. The University or specific degree programs are accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, University Senate of the United Methodist Church, Committee on Professional Training of the American Chemical Society, National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, Indiana Professional Standards Board for the State of Indiana, Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, and the National Association of Schools of Music.

Forty-two majors are offered in the College of Liberal Arts, and three degree programs are offered in the School of Music. Courses and advising successfully prepare students for professional post-graduate programs in law, medicine, business, engineering, and ministry.

DePauw has 36 major buildings on 695 acres, including a 520-acre nature park featuring The Janet Prindle Institute for Ethics and the new Bartlett Reflection Center, located in Greencastle, Indiana, a 45-minute drive west of Indianapolis. Historic East College, built in 1877, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

NCAC Weekly Release (3-4-13) - Women's Lacrosse

The North Coast women’s lacrosse season continued last week with six teams in action. The week was highlighted by Hiram’s win over Baldwin Wallace in the Terriers inaugural game at Charles A. Henry field. The NCAC has now opened the 2013 lacrosse season with a combined 9-2 record against non-conference opponents. Non-conference action continues in the coming week highlighted by two games on Wednesday and four on Saturday.

NCAC Weekly Release (3-4-13) - Men's Lacrosse

The North Coast men’s lacrosse season continued last week with six teams in action. The week was highlighted by Wooster senior Matt Ranck (Union Lake, MI/Walled Lake) who led the Fighting Scots to a perfect 2-0 start in 2013 posting a combined nine goals. Men’s lacrosse action continues this week with one game on Tuesday, five games on Wednesday, four on Saturday and one more to close out the week on Sunday.

NCAC Weekly Release (3-4-13) - Tennis

North Coast men's and women's tennis squads continued spring competition last week, highlighted by the DePauw women finishing fifth overall at the 2013 ITA Division III National Indoor Team Championships. The Tigers opened play with a 6-3 setback against Johns Hopkins, before knocking off Wisconsin-Whitewater, 8-1, and Washington & Lee, 8-1, in back draw matches.

NCAC Weekly Release (3-4-13) - Baseball & Softball

North Coast baseball and softball squads kicked off their 2013 campaigns last week, highlighted by the Allegheny softball squad posting a 3-1 record at the Beach Blast in Virginia Beach Virginia. The Gators knocked off a pair of nationally-ranked squads on Friday, including No. 16 Rowam 4-2, and No. 6 Christopher Newport, 3-0.

The Wabash College men’s squad and the Ohio Wesleyan women’s team captured the 2013 North Coast Athletic Conference team titles on Saturday evening at The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. Wabash, which won its third consecutive team title, accumulated 220.5 total points to edge out Ohio Wesleyan (168.5), while the Ohio Wesleyan women earned its seventh-straight women’s title after earning 195 points to edge out Oberlin (168) for the team title.

DePauw Rolls Past Maryville In Second Round Of NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament

The top-ranked DePauw University women's basketball team kept its unblemished record alive on Saturday evening in Greencastle, Indiana, with a 78-51 victory over Maryville (TN) in the second round of the 2013 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament. The Tigers will now take a perfect 30-0 record into next weekend's sectional round of the national tournament where they will take on Washington (MO). Sectional round host sites will be announced by the NCAA on Sunday.

Denison Picked as Preseason Favorite for 16th North Coast Softball Season

North Coast Athletic Conference softball coaches have selected Denison as the preseason favorite based on balloting in the annual preseason coaches’ poll.

NCAC Basketball Teams Prepare for 2013 NCAA Postseason Action - Audio Preview

The NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament is set to tip-off this weekend with the women's opening round Friday and the men's Saturday. Three teams will represent the NCAC with Ohio Wesleyan and Wooster in the men’s tournament and DePauw in the women’s. DePauw will host La Roche Friday evening with tip scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Ohio Wesleyan and Wooster will open up NCAA play on Saturday with both school’s hosting first round action as the Battling Bishops take on St. Vincent and the Fighting Scots will battle Penn St.-Behrend. In preparation for this weekend's action, Russell Kramer, NCAC Assistant Executive Director, caught up with all three head coaches to delve into each team's mindset heading into the 2013 championships.
