DePauw University
Founded in 1837 by the Methodist church, DePauw University is a private, selective, coeducational, residential, undergraduate College of Liberal Arts and School of Music. The University or specific degree programs are accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, University Senate of the United Methodist Church, Committee on Professional Training of the American Chemical Society, National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, Indiana Professional Standards Board for the State of Indiana, Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, and the National Association of Schools of Music.
Forty-two majors are offered in the College of Liberal Arts, and three degree programs are offered in the School of Music. Courses and advising successfully prepare students for professional post-graduate programs in law, medicine, business, engineering, and ministry.
DePauw has 36 major buildings on 695 acres, including a 520-acre nature park featuring The Janet Prindle Institute for Ethics and the new Bartlett Reflection Center, located in Greencastle, Indiana, a 45-minute drive west of Indianapolis. Historic East College, built in 1877, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.






Seven North Coast Athletic Conference softball players were named to the 2013 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Central Region Team.
The NCAA Division III Tennis Championships will get underway today (May 20) at Stowe Stadium in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The Kenyon men’s squad will take on Washington University of St. Louis in a quarterfinal match at 4:00 PM with the winner advancing to Tuesday’s semifinal match to take on either Williams or Trinity (Texas), while the national championship match is scheduled for Wednesday, May 22nd.
The 2013 NCAA Division III Golf Championships concluded last Friday, May 17, at the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort in Destin, Florida. The Wittenberg University men’s team finished the four-day event in 13th-place with 1,212 strokes (304-302-297-309), while the DePauw women finished eighth overall with 1,290 strokes (321-323-321-325). A pair of American Southwest Conference members captured national titles as Texas Tyler won the men’s competition with 1,167 strokes and Mary Hardin-Baylor raised the Walnut & Bronze on the women’s side with 1,239 strokes. Fourth-ranked DePauw shot a fourth-round 325 and finished eighth at the NCAA Division III Championships at the Baytowne Golf Course at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. Junior Paige Gooch (Fort Mitchell, KY/Beechwood) finished in a tie for 12th with a four-round total of 314 after shooting an 86 in the final round.
Denison University posted top-five finishes in 19 of 23 sports to earn the North Coast Athletic Conference All-Sports Championship for the 12th time in school history. The Big Red opened the year with top-five finishes in five of the seven fall sports, and kept the momentum rolling into the winter season with five more top-five finishes, including league titles in men's swimming & diving and women's swimming & diving. DU capped off the year with a strong showing in the spring season, finishing in the top-five in nine of the 10 sports, including the outright NCAC title in men's lacrosse. The Big Red secured the 2013 All-Sports title by compiling 165.0 total points, edging out 2012 All-Sports champion DePauw (159.5) by five-and-a-half points.
Wooster junior second baseman Eddie Reese (Canfield, OH/Cardinal Mooney) {left} and Wooster senior left-handed pitcher Keenan White (Dublin, OH/Dublin Coffman) {right} have been named the Player and Pitcher of the Year, respectively, to highlight the 2013 All-North Coast Athletic Conference baseball selections.
