Seven NCAC Track & Field/Cross Country Student-Athletes Named To Capital One Academic All-District 7 Squad

Seven North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) track & field/cross country student-athletes earned first-team laurels on the 2012 Capital One Academic All-District 7 Team, it was announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America on May 31.

DePauw Wins First NCAC All-Sports Title; Tigers Claimed 18 Top-Five Finishes in 2011-12

DePauw University posted top-five finishes in 18 of 23 sports to earn the North Coast Athletic Conference All-Sports Championship in its inaugural season in the league. The Tigers opened the year with top-five finishes in six of the seven fall sports, including a share of the field hockey title with Denison, and vaulted into first place in the All-Sports standings after winning the women's basketball title outright in the winter season. DePauw capped off the year with a strong showing in the spring season, finishing in the top-five in seven of the 10 sports, including outright titles in women's golf and women's tennis. The Tigers secured the 2012 All-Sports title by compiling 153.5 total points, edging out second-place Denison (153) by a half a point.

All 10 NCAC Institutions Represented in Latest Div. III Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings

The North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) has placed all 10 member institutions on the updated 2011-12 Division III Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings which includes the results from 2011-12 NCAA winter postseason championships. The Directors' Cup Standings measure each institution's overall achievement in postseason play by awarding points based on each team's finish in NCAA postseason competition.

Wabash Sits 7th On USTFCCCA NCAA Div. III Program Of The Year Standings

After finishing 16th at the 2011 NCAA cross country championships and 11th at the 2011-12 NCAA indoor track & field championships, Wabash College currently sits in seventh place on the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) 2011-12 Men's Program of the Year standings.

Wabash's Kevin McCarthy And Ohio Wesleyan's Sharif Kronemer Earn NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships

Ohio Wesleyan senior Sharif Kronemer (Silver Springs, MD/Springbrook) and Wabash senior Kevin McCarthy (Zionsville, In/Zionsville), both cross country and track & field athletes, have been awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. The NCAA awarded 58 postgraduate scholarships of $7,500 to 29 male student-athletes and 29 female student-athletes who participated in fall sports.

Ohio Wesleyan won one outright championship and finished tied for first in another to take the lead in the race for the 2011-12 North Coast Athletic Conference All-Sports championship.

 NCAC cross country runners concluded the season at the 2011 NCAA Div. III Cross Country Championships at Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wisconsin, on Saturday afternoon. The Oberlin Yeowomen posted the highest team finish of all NCAC squads in 15th place overall, while Wabash recorded a 16th place showing and the Allegheny men were 24th.

Allegheny's Over and Wabash's McCarthy Crowned USTFCCCA Regional Athletes of the Year

Allegheny junior Bobby Over (Wadsworth, OH/Wadsworth) and Wabash senior Kevin McCarthy (Zionsville, IN/Zionsville) were both named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Regional Athletes of the Year in their respectives regions.

NCAC Weekly Release (11-13-11) -- NCAA Cross Country Meets

The NCAA Division III Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Championships, hosted by Wisconsin-Oshkosh, will be contested at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wisconsin on Saturday. Two teams from each regional automatically qualified for the national meet.
