2012 ALL-NCAC BASKETBALL SQUAD ANNOUNCED; 2012 All-NCAC Men's Basketball Team Ohio Wesleyan senior guard Tim Brady (Dublin, OH/Jerome) has been named Player of the Year to highlight the 2012 All-North Coast Athletic Conference men's basketball squad, announced today after voting by the conference's head coaches.
Joining Brady as a repeat selection on the first team is Wittenberg senior Clayton Black (Lancaster, OH/Lancaster). Black made his first-team all-NCAC debut in 2011. Denison junior Dimonde Hale (Columbus, OH/Northland) and Wooster senior Justin Hallowell (Columbus, OH/Thomas Worthington) both move up to the first team after earning second-team laurels in 2011. Hallowell was also a second-team selection in 2009, while Hale was named to the honorable mention squad in the same year. Three players make their All-NCAC debuts as a member of the 2012 top squad, including Wabash senior Derek Bailey (Bloomington, IN/South), Wooster freshman Xavier Brown (Bowling Green, OH/Bowling Green) and Hiram senior Jamaal Watkins (South Euclid, OH/Brush).

Brady {left} earns his third-straight, first-team nod after leading the Battling Bishops to an overall record of 20-7 and a third-place finish in the NCAC standings with a league record of 11-5. The Bishops have earned one of the possible 20 at-large bids into the NCAA Division III Tournament and will take on Hobart (22-5) in their opening round contest at Cabrini on either March 1st or 2nd. The 6-4 senior who currently leads the NCAC in scoring at 22.6 points per game is also averaging 3.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.
Brown {right} also collected Newcomer of the Year accolades after helping guide the Fighting Scots to a second-place finish in the NCAC standings with a league record of 12-4. Brown will enter the 2012 NCAA Div. III Tournament averaging 12.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.6 rebounds per game. The Fighting Scots will host Maryville (18-9) in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.
Wittenberg head coach Bill Brown {left} was voted NCAC Coach of the Year for the fifth time in his career. In his 19th year at Wittenberg, Brown guided the Tigers to the their first league title since 2004 and their 11th all-time with a 14-2 mark against league opponents. Brown currently owns an overall record of 418-120 in 19 seasons at Wittenberg and a mark of 478-219 in 25 total seasons. Brown and the Tigers will compete in the NCAA Tournament for the 26th time in program history, squaring off against Birmingham-Southern (25-2) in an opening round contest at Transylvania.
