Denison (5-0, 10-2) and Ohio Wesleyan (5-0, 10-4) are set to break the tie atop the conference standings Wednesday as the Big Red travels to Delaware to square off with the Bishops. Each squad remained perfect in conference action after they both picked up a pair of NCAC victories last week. Denison defeated Kenyon (3-2, 7-6) and Wittenberg (2-3, 7-4), while Ohio Wesleyan knocked off DePauw (0-5, 0-11) and Wooster (3-2, 8-4).
North Coast women’s lacrosse action continued last weekend with a pair of squads remaining perfect in league play. Wittenberg (5-0, 9-3) defeated Hiram (0-3, 3-7) and Denison (4-0, 11-0) knocked off DePauw (1-4, 4-5) and Ohio Wesleyan (1-3, 2-9). Conference play continues this week, highlighted by Wittenberg traveling to Denison on Saturday.
The North Coast softball schedule continued last week with DePauw (10-0, 16-12) sweeping Denison (5-3, 15-11) and Wooster (2-6, 13-13) to sit in first place. Conference play continues this week with three double-headers scheduled Tuesday, one Wednesday and four more Saturday.
DePauw (3-0, 14-7) posted North Coast West Division victories over Denison (1-1, 12-5), Wittenberg (0-1, 4-8) and Ohio Wesleyan (0-2, 2-12) last week extending its win streak to four. Conference play continues this week with matches scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
The DePauw women’s squad led all NCAC golf teams last week as the Tigers captured a pair of event championships at the annual Big Four Classic in Indiana and at the Illinois Wesleyan Spring Fling. NCAC golf action continues this week, highlighted by Wooster hosting the Nye Intercollegiate for men’s squad and the Mohican Classic for women’s teams.
North Coast men’s tennis teams will conclude regular season play this week with squads continuing to battle for positions in the divisional standings as there are eight divisional matches remaining between April 15-21. Following the completion of the regular season, eight teams will qualify for the 2013 NCAC Men’s Tennis Championships, which will be held at Oberlin College, April 26-28.
North Coast divisional baseball action continued last weekend with Wooster (7-1, 19-7) taking over the top spot in the East Division standings after sweeping Hiram (0-10, 9-16) and Denison (8-4, 15-10) maintaining its hold at the top of the West Division after splitting a series with Ohio Wesleyan (3-5, 11-10). There are four NCAC divisional baseball series are on the schedule this weekend, April 20-21.
It was a busy weekend for North Coast track & field squads as the Ohio-based schools competed at the All-Ohio Championships at Ohio Wesleyan, while DePauw and Wabash were in action at the Indiana Division III Championships at Franklin College. League action continues this week, highlighted by Allegheny hosting a Tri-Meet on Tuesday and Kenyon hosting its annual spring invitational on Saturday.
