Led by junior Paige Gooch's (Fort Mitchell, KY/Beechwood) 78 and junior Kelsey Smith's (Indianapolis, IN/Hamilton Southeastern) 79, DePauw shot a second-round 323 and is in sixth place at the midway point of the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships at the Baytowne Golf Course at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.
For the second straight year, the Wittenberg men's golf team put together a second-day charge to make the cut by the most narrow of margins at the NCAA Division III Championships. The Tigers finished the second round as part of a three-way tie for 13th place after carding a 302 on the Links course at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. Wittenberg stood 16th after posting a score of 304 on the more challenging Raven course in Tuesday's opening round.
Denison University posted top-five finishes in 19 of 23 sports to earn the North Coast Athletic Conference All-Sports Championship for the 12th time in school history. The Big Red opened the year with top-five finishes in five of the seven fall sports, and kept the momentum rolling into the winter season with five more top-five finishes, including league titles in men's swimming & diving and women's swimming & diving. DU capped off the year with a strong showing in the spring season, finishing in the top-five in nine of the 10 sports, including the outright NCAC title in men's lacrosse. The Big Red secured the 2013 All-Sports title by compiling 165.0 total points, edging out 2012 All-Sports champion DePauw (159.5) by five-and-a-half points.

The Kenyon College women's lacrosse team (13-3) and Ohio Wesleyan men's lacrosse team (13-6) saw their successful seasons come to a close in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament as the Ladies fell to Adrian, 18-16, and the Battling Bishops came up just shy against Aurora, 13-9.
For the fifth time in the last six seasons, Kenyon (25-3) has advanced to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Tournament. The Lords, who were the national runners-up a year ago, will square off against Washington (MO) (19-5) in a quarterfinal match next Monday, May 20, at Stowe Stadium on the campus of Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo Michigan. In addition, the DePauw University women’s tennis team was eliminated from the 2013 NCAA Division III Tennis Women’s Tennis Tournament in the third round after dropping a narrow 5-4 decision against Washington (MO).
The College of Wooster (15-3, 32-10) captured its 15th all-time North Coast Athletic Conference baseball championship with an 18-6 victory over Allegheny (11-7, 26-16) in game six of the 2013 NCAC Baseball Tournament on Friday, May 10, at VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe, Ohio. The Fighting Scots broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the sixth inning with eight runs on five hits and then added six more in the seventh and two more in the eighth to seal the 12-run victory over the Gators. With the victory, the Scots were crowned the 2013 NCAC baseball champions and earned the league’s automatic big into the NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament. The Fighting Scots will open play in the Terre Haute Regional at Art Nehf Field in Terre Haute, Indiana, on Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. against Thomas More (29-14).
The Kenyon men's tennis team blitzed the Franciscan University Barons, 5-0, in Saturday's second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Lords, ranked No. 2 in the nation with a 24-3 record, will now host the Case Western Reserve University Spartans, who are ranked No. 14 nationally and own a 22-6 record. Case defeated Wilkes University, 5-0, Saturday morning to advance. Kenyon and Case will square off Sunday at noon with a national quarterfinal spot on the line. In a battle of two evenly matched teams, the 13th-ranked DePauw Univeristy Tigers dropped a 5-4 decision to 12th-ranked Washington University in the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship Third Round on Saturday. The Tigers finished the season at 19-8, while the Bears improved to 16-7 and advanced to the national quarterfinals.
