ALLEGHENY completed competition at its own Guy W. Kuhn Invitational on Monday, September 17, at the Country Club of Meadville in Pennsylvania. The Gators entered the final round with a three-stroke lead, but couldn’t hang on as Point Park narrowly edged them out with a one-stroke lead in the final standings as Point Park totaled 597 strokes (297-300) to Allegheny’s 598 (294-304). Shane Gleason of Roberts Wesleyan won the event with a two-day total of 141 (70-71), while Allegheny was led by junior Oliver White (Lower Gwynedd, PA/Heritage Academy) who finished in a tie for third with a 145 (74-71). The Gators were also scheduled to be in competition at the Howard “Bud” Elwell Invitational in Clymer, New York over the weekend; however, round one of play was suspended due to darkness.

WABASH captured a 7-3 victory over Rose-Hulman in the annual Giant/Engineer Match Play Classic on Wednesday evening at Crawfordsville Country Club in Indiana. Sophomore Nick Sommer (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) shot a 72 to pace the Little Giants in the victory as he finished second overall in the individual standings.

Wabash and DEPAUW also opened play at the Franklin College Dick Park Invitational on Sunday (9/23) at the Legends Golf Club in Indiana. After one round of play, DePauw and Wabash are deadlocked in the team standings in fifth-place with identical tallies of 321. The Little Giants were led by sophomore Logan Burdick (Clinton, IN/South Vermillion) who is tied for sixth with a 75 (37-38), while DPU sophomore Brandon Bekkering (Clinton, IN/South Vermillion) sits in ninth after carding an opening-round 76 (40-36).
