Nearly every North Coast men’s golf squad was in action last week at one of three separate events as Ohio Wesleyan hosted the annual Gordin Collegiate Classic, Wittenberg hosted its annual Rosecrans-Maurer Invitational and Wabash played host to its own Fall Classic.

WITTENBERG and OHIO WESLEYAN were the lone league squads to compete at the Gordin Collegiate Classic at Columbus Country Club, October 1-2. Wittenberg withstood a third-round challenge from Methodist to win the team title by two strokes as the Tigers posted a 54-hole score of 868 (293-285-290). Ohio Wesleyan found itself locked in a tie for sixth-place in the final team standings with Guilford after carding a three-round total of 897 (295-306-296). Wittenberg sophomore Alex Andrews (Kirtland, OH/Gilmour) was the championship medalist award winner at the event after posting a 54-hole total of 212 (71-69-72), while OWU senior Jerry Moore (Mogadore, OH/Mogadore) also cracked the top-five in a tie for fifth with a three-round score of 215 (70-74-71).

ALLEGHENY, DENISON, DEPAUW and WOOSTER also joined Ohio Wesleyan at Wittenberg’s annual Rosecrans-Maurer Invitational at Springfield Country Club, October 6-7. In the final team standings, Allegheny and Ohio Wesleyan tied for the team championship with identical 36-hole totals of 595, while Denison was fourth with a 601 (300-301), Wittenberg was fifth with a 602 (301-301), DePauw finished in a tie for sixth with a 613 (301-312) and Wooster was ninth with a 621 (308-313). Allegheny junior Oliver White (Lower Gwynedd, PA/Heritage Academy) secured championship medalist honors at the event after tallying the second-best 36-hole effort in program history with a 141 (69-72). Ohio Wesleyan freshman Drew O’Connor (San Diego, CA/Parker) was second overall in the standings with a two-day total of 144 (73-71), while the trio of Wittenberg’s Alex Andrews, Denison’s Aaron Klimchuk (White Plains, NY/White Plains) and Denison’s Jimmy Slovitt (Winnetka, IL/New Trier) tied for third with 36-hole totals of 145. In addition, DPU's Drake Dunaway (Centerville, OH/Centerville) tied for 11th with a 150 (73-77), while Wooster sophomore T.J. Selby (Middletown, OH/Culver Academies, IN) finished in a 17th-place tie with a 151 (71-80).

WABASH was the lone NCAC squad to compete at the Wabash Fall Classic at Crawfordsville Country Club in Indiana, October 6-7. The Little Giants finished fifth at the event with a two-day total of 625 (310-315), led by sophomore James Kennedy (Greenwich, CT/Rye Country Day School) and freshman Cameron Taylor (Dunlap, IL/Peoria Christian) who each fired two-day totals of 155 to tie for 11th-place in the individual standings.
