NCAC Weekly Release (10-15-12) - Men's Golf
North Coast men’s golf squads are beginning to bring to a close the fall portion of their 2012-13 schedules. Action continues this week with Denison wrapping up competition today (10/15) at the Manhattanville Fall Invitational, Wittenberg putting the final touches on the Golfweek Division III Fall Invitational in Sandestin, Florida, and Ohio Wesleyan traveling to East Tennessee for the Maryville College Fall Invitational.
DEPAUW hosted WABASH and six other non-NCAC squads at Deer Creek Golf Club in Clayton, Indiana, for the annual DPU Small College Classic (Oct. 13-14). The DPU Tigers won their first team title since the 2010-11 season after firing a 36-hole total of 613 (307-306), led by junior Charlie Castino (Noblesville, IN/Noblesville) who was the championship medalist award winner at the event after carding a 146 (73-73) on the Par-71, 6,695 yard course. The Little Giants were deadlocked with Franklin for fourth in the final standings with a 634 (305-329) and got their top showing from junior Scott Morrison (Marrillville, IN/Andrean) who tied for 13th in the individual standings with a 158 (77-81).
HIRAM wrapped up its fall season on Saturday at Barrington Golf Club in Aurora, Ohio, for the Lourdes Fall Finale. Sophomore Kyle Meggas (Lakewood, OH/Lakewood) posted the low round of the tournament for Hiram with an 18-hole total of 87 strokes to place ninth out of 22 golfers.
