ALLEGHENY opened its 2012-13 season at the St. John Fisher Collegiate Invitational at the Stafford Country Club in Stafford, New York. The Gators held a slight lead in the event following a storm-shortened opening round, but couldn’t keep the momentum going on day two as St. John Fisher earned the team title with a two-day total of 425 (143-279). The Gators were second in the final team standings after carding a 447 (143-304). Junior Oliver White (Lower Gwynedd, PA/Heritage Acad.), who was the clubhouse leader after nine-holes with a four-under par 33, led the Gators at the event in third-place in the final standings with a 27-hole total of 105 (33-72).

DENISON, DEPAUW, OHIO WESLEYAN and WITTENBERG all traveled to Lexington, Kentucky, for the annual Transylvania Fall Invitational at the University Club of Kentucky. Wittenberg finished one stroke behind Transylvania in the team standings for second place with a two-day total of 577 (289-288), while Ohio Wesleyan was seventh with 594 strokes (304-290), Denison was 10th with a 612 (304-308) and DePauw was 11th with a 36-hole total of 613 (307-306). Wittenberg junior Ben Hogenkamp (Minster, OH/Minster) earned medalist honors at the event with a two-day total of 139 (70-69), while Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Kaneat Nimcharoenwan (Bangkok, Thailand/Buckeye Valley) also logged a top-ten finish in sixth-place overall with a 36-hole total of 142 (73-69). Hogenkamp’s 69 in the final round marks just the 17th time in program history that a Wittenberg golfer carded a sub-70 round, while his two-day total of 139 is tied for third all-time at Wittenberg. In addition, DePauw was led by senior Matt Coffin (Powell, OH/Columbus Acad.) who finished in a tie for 27th after carding a 150 (70-80), while DU junior Aaron Klimchuk (White Plains, NY/White Plains) finished in a tie for 36th in the individual standings with a two-day total of 151 (76-75).
