Following one of the most exciting North Coast football seasons in recent history, Ohio Wesleyan (6-1, 9-1) and Wittenberg (6-1, 9-1) have been declared co-champions after finishing the regular season with identical 6-1 marks in league play. Wittenberg secured the conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Football Championships via the NCAC tiebreaker system. The Tigers will travel to Tiffin, Ohio, on Saturday, November 17th, to take on Heidelberg University (8-1, 9-1), an at-large selection out of the Ohio Athletic Conference, at 12:00 p.m. in the opening round of the national tournament. The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) released its Academic All-District squad on November 8th, and the North Coast was well represented on the list as 11 players were recognized on the list.
For the second time in three weeks, three North Coast football squads are either ranked or receiving votes on both the D3football.com Top 25 and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Top 25. On the D3football.com Top 25, Wabash dropped fifteen spots to No. 25, while Wittenberg and Ohio Wesleyan appears in the "Others Receiving Votes" section of the poll. In the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Top 25, Wittenberg sits at No. 12, with Wabash and Ohio Wesleyan appearing in the "Others Receiving Votes" section of the poll.
Oberlin senior wide receiver Robin Witjes (Howell, MI/Howell) and Wooster senior punter Dana Obery (South Euclid, OH/Brush) have been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for games of November 3-4. Witjes caught touchdown passes that went for 66 yards and 52 yards as he hauled in seven catches for 165 yards in the Yeomen's 31-16 upset win of No. 10 Wabash on Saturday (Nov. 3). He also threw a 50-yard touchdown pass in the win. Obery broke a school record with a 77-yard punt on his first attempt and later added a 66-yarder in the Fighting Scots' 21-17 loss against Kenyon.
The race for the North Coast title will head into the final weekend of the season as Kenyon (5-1, 6-3), Ohio Wesleyan (5-1, 8-1) and Wittenberg (5-1, 8-1) remain in a three-way tie at the top of the NCAC football standings. The final Saturday of the regular season will once again feature five league games, highlighted by Wabash (4-2, 7-2) hosting DePauw (1-5, 2-7) for the 119th playing of the Monon Bell Classic.

With just two weeks remaining in the regular season, there remains a four-way tie at the top of the North Coast football standings between Kenyon (4-1, 5-3), Ohio Wesleyan (4-1, 7-1), Wabash (4-1, 7-1) and Wittenberg (4-1, 7-1). All four teams will be back in action this Saturday (11/3) as there are five NCAC tilts on the slate.

Ohio Wesleyan sophomore tight end Calvin Cagney (Indialantic, FL/Melbourne) has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for games of October 19-20. Cagney tied a school record with 16 receptions for 151 yards and three touchdowns in the Battling Bishops' 34-26 come-from-behind victory over Carnegie Mellon on Saturday (Oct. 20).
