11 NCAC Student-Athletes Named To Academic All-District Squad

Men's All-District At-Large Team - Women's All-District At-Large Team

11 NCAC student-athletes have been selected to the 2011-12 Capital One Academic All-District VII Division III At-Large First-Team, released by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on May 18th.

The Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

NCAC student-athletes made up more then half of the first-team selections on the men's side with six of the of the 10 honorees coming from NCAC institutions. The list includes Oberlin senior swimmer Jebran Haddad (Beirut, Lebanon/American Communit School), Denison sophomore swimmer Carlos Maciel (Recife, Brazil/Colegio Marista Sao Luis), Wittenberg senior golfer Jordan Millice (Cable, OH/Triad), Kenyon junior swimmer Curtis Ramsey (Wilmington, DE/Charter School of Wilmington), Kenyon senior swimmer David Somers (North Potomac, MD/Quince Orchard) and Oberlin senior tennis player Sam Towne (Kempton, PA/Northwestern Lehigh).

The list on women representing the NCAC on the Academic All-District VII team included DePauw senior swimmer Catie Baker (Cedar Rapids, IA/Kennedy), Wooster junior lacrosse player Shawna Ferris (Boxborough, MA/Acton-Boxborough), Wooster senior swimmer Melissa Haug (Charlotte, NC/Univ. of Nebraska-Lincoln Independent Study), Oberlin senior tennis player Ariel Lewis (Vacaville, CA/Vanden) and Kenyon senior swimmer Alisa Vereshchagin (Solon, OH/Solon).
